What is Torque?
Let's start with basics, Torque is defined force applied at a distance.
TORQUE = FORCE X DISTANCE
For example you are trying to tighten the nut with a wrench.
Force from A Travelling through the whole wrench to B where torque is applied to the nut, The basic should be clear by now.
Let's see how it works in car?
Same thing is happening with you car engine, combustion withing car cylinders within the car engine pressing the piston down, then the piston is pressing down the craig shaft creating twisting force. That is the torque that you engine is making.
Now that it is clear, why does it vary car to car?
Well, it is simple the distance is different or the combustion level is much higher. It results in producing much higher torque due to more rotations.
Horse power = Torque x RPM
It must be clear by now, let me know in the comments section below if you have any questions.
